G4C Future Leader

Position held: Graduate Project Manager

Thomas joined AECOM’s graduate scheme in 2016 and has since been involved with a variety of projects, ranging from fast-paced commercial, residential refurbishments and larger scale masterplans. Consistently demonstrating leadership qualities when working within teams, Thomas proactively takes ownership of tasks, offering solutions when interacting with senior management and by advising younger graduates in relation to work associated tasks and general career progression.

Thomas aims to be a positive influence on the construction industry and regularly publishes articles that cover parts of his MSc dissertation on the application of BIM for demolition projects, a topic that has yet to be covered in-depth. His involvement with the RICS Matrics CPC Committee and the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Young Leader Committee, has allowed him to successfully arrange a number of CPD events on topics such as BIM, soft skills and asbestos management, and also pilot a Workplace Exchange programme which aims to deepen relationships within the industry across multiple professional services by exchanging employees in order for them to provide an insight into the daily business of their counterparts.

The winner of the G4C Future Leader award will be announced at the Constructing Excellence SECBE Awards on the 28th of June 2018 at the Royal Lancaster London. For more information or to book tickets, click here.
