Offsite Champions Ramboll

Staff:  1,300

Type of work: Engineering, design and consultancy

The judges said..."The evangelical approach of Ramboll to pursue the most efficient offsite solutions is inspiring. They have a burning commitment, an obsession almost, to design out inefficiencies whilst at the same time achieving the highest possible quality outcomes."

Ramboll’s work in the UK over the last twenty years demonstrates their leadership position in transforming the way the industry thinks and acts. They have applied their expertise over a range of projects in different market sectors and across three product types – modular steel, Precast Concrete and Cross Laminated Timber – to great effect. Ramboll’s mission is to demystify the offsite process which they achieve admirably.

Not only have they acquired an impressive array of expertise and understanding across the offsite sector, they have designed and developed a range of digital tools to enable optimisation of offsite techniques leading to huge productivity improvements - a real game changer in the sluggish construction industry. Innovation runs through the organisation at all levels ensuring the best ideas become embedded in the business and are accessible by Ramboll’s clients.  They have proved that offsite is not an exclusive technology limited to projects with specific characteristics but a construction methodology.

“This category looks for a systematic approach to the implementation of ‘offsite’ that provides value when benchmarked against other traditional building solutions” explains John Skivington, Director LHC; head judge and sponsor of the Offsite Award.  “The evangelical approach of Ramboll to pursue the most efficient offsite construction solutions is inspiring. They have a burning commitment, an obsession almost, to design out inefficiencies whilst at the same time achieving the highest possible quality outcomes.”

Ramboll will now go on to the Constructing Excellence National Awards on the 16th of November, where they will be up against other Offsite category winners from around the UK including Rollalong, Galliford Try, Skanska and NG Bailey.

The Constructing Excellence SECBE Awards 2019 will be opening for entries shortly after the national awards, for works and projects carried out in 2018. You can register your interest now to ensure you don't miss out on next years prestigious awards.
