Site Waste Management Plans
-- Are you ready for April 2008?
In April 2008 SWMPs will be a legal requirement. Some local authorities and Eco Home standards already require SWMPs – they need to be in place now.
A Site Waste Management Plan (SWMP) is simply a plan that details the amounts and types of wastes that will be produced on site and how they will be reused, recycled or disposed of. SWMPs provide a good opportunity to streamline site activities and realise a number of business benefits including:
SECBE has developed a suite of intensive raining programmes to assist you to quickly and easily implement effective and efficient SWMPs. Click here for more information.

Low Carbon Homes –
Government policy is for all new homes to be built to zero carbon by 2016 - a challenging target for designers, housing developers and house builders today.

Does your business know how to limit the energy consumption and carbon emissions arising from the construction and operation of the homes you are developing?

You will be expected to achieve progressive improvement of the energy/carbon performance of your buildings: 25% by 2010 and 44% by 2013, so you need to be changing the way you build now.

SECBE is running a series of FREE events across the region to tell you how to find everything you need to know about low carbon design and build, including refurbishment and the Code for Sustainable Homes

Tuesday, 4 March 2008 (afternoon) – Crawley, Sussex
