GOSE - Government Office of the South East South East Waste Advisory Group The Government Office for the South East chairs the South East Waste Advisory Group (SEWAG), which was set up in 2004 as a sub-group of the South East Region Technical Advisory Body (SERTAB). Hampshire County Council Led by Bob Lisney (Asst Director) supported by the establishment of the Hampshire Natural Resources Initiative (HNRI).Looking at life cycle of aggregates through to waste from building stock. Some funding sources for initiatives are not directly available to HCC, therefore the Hampshire Natural Resources Trust has been established to maximize funding and partnership opportunities developed with industry, other public bodies (e.g. the health sector) and the community sector to maximise opportunities. An initial assessment indicates that an initial investment of �40,000 could unlock �3 million external funding. HazRed The HAZRED project will be working to develop a hazardous waste reduction plan for the Construction sector, including reduction targets. HAZRED is looking to work with 20 small businesses in the Construction sector who would like to save money by reducing the amount of hazardous waste they produce. Businesses will need to demonstrate a commitment to reducing their hazardous wastes and to monitoring their waste output. The project is adminstered by the Environment Agency in England. Wood Recycling Association The WRA has 46 member companies and represents the interests of the wood recycling sector to governments and to the environment agencies and other regulatory authorities in the UK. Meetings of the Association are usually held quarterly and are open to all members. Subjects range from trade and potential markets, discussions with the Government's Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP), packaging waste and PRNs, through to regulational, environmental and publicity issues. The WRA is now finalizing a wood packaging protocol to more accurately calculate the amount of packaging being processed. It is also developing a Wood Recyclers' Code of Practice, designed to raise business operational standards in the sector. The WRA is a member of the Recycling Industries Alliance, an influential group of 8 recycling trade associations set up in 1998 to lobby Government and the Environment Agencies on a variety of major issues on behalf of member companies. Wood Recycling Association	The WRA has 46 member companies and represents the interests of the wood recycling sector to governments and to the environment agencies and other regulatory authorities in the UK. Meetings of the Association are usually held quarterly and are open to all members. Subjects range from trade and potential markets, discussions with the Government's Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP), packaging waste and PRNs, through to regulational, environmental and publicity issues. The WRA is now finalizing a wood packaging protocol to more accurately calculate the amount of packaging being processed. It is also developing a Wood Recyclers' Code of Practice, designed to raise business operational standards in the sector. The WRA is a member of the Recycling Industries Alliance, an influential group of 8 recycling trade associations set up in 1998 to lobby Government and the Environment Agencies on a variety of major issues on behalf of member companies.
