In order to help the construction and demolition industries prepare, implement and review SWMP’s, BRE - the leading player on sustainability enterprise, innovation and market transformation in the built environment – has developed SMARTWaste Plan, the FREE site waste management tool.

The unique web based functionality of SMARTWaste Plan provides the industry with an easy to use tool, enabling companies to improve their waste management performance and comply with requirements.

Available at www.smartwaste.co.uk this free tool can be used on-line or by downloading templates and is relevant to all types of construction projects.

SMARTWaste Plan is quick and easy to use. It helps businesses manage all aspects of creating, implementing and reviewing a Site Waste Management Plan. A robust tool, SMARTWaste Plan helps to forecast waste generation and using the integrated measurement system can help to identify the type and amount of waste generated on site, and the associated costs. The web based system displays automatic reporting of information at both the project and company level.

SMARTWaste Plan has been developed in full compliance with the requirements of the new legislation and can also be used to meet the Code for Sustainable Homes mandatory requirement for waste and those within BREEAM.
