Technology SKills Project
Over the past ten months, the technology skills project has identified a number of new and emerging construction processes and products which will improve the performance of the construction industry, particularly in the housing sector.
The technologies are identified in four themes. Within each theme, SECBE have detailed 3 priority technologies which can make major benefits in terms of construction efficiency, quality and cost.
The selection criteria of these technologies are as follows:
- Best returns for investment
- Demand from employers
- Commercial exploitation of crossover technologies
- The need to build more efficiently
- The need to build in fast-track scenarios
- A need to address the inefficiencies of the housing sector
- The need of small to medium size contractors (SMEs) to be more efficient
