Derek is the driving force behind the growth and development of the company. He has extensive experience and understanding of the issues affecting the built environment sector in the South East and has a wide network of contacts within industry and Government bodies

Trained in construction management, Derek gained his broader knowledge of the UK through his work with the Construction Industry Board, the national strategic forum for construction.

Richard started out over 30 years ago as a trainee in the construction industry. He has spent most of his career client facing taking responsibility for strategy, business development, account management and pre-construction activities to ensure client satisfaction. 

In his new role, Richard is responsible for the CoTrain programme. He works closely with local authorities, contractors and their supply chains to recruit, employ and support apprentices through a Shared Apprenticeship Scheme.

Andy joined SECBE in early 2021 and is responsible for the ongoing delivery and development of the CLOCS initiative. Andy has worked in various operational roles. 

Previously he worked in financial services before moving into the construction industry in 2010, spending 10 years as the General Manager for the Considerate Constructors Scheme. Andy uses his vast experience in membership models, marketing, training, business development and project development to help drive CLOCS forward.

Samantha Carter is a Project Manager for CLOCS, working on projects such as Construction Logistic Plan training and the CLOCS Vox app.

She’s also passionate about music and is part of a community-led team of volunteers that produces the Basingstoke Live Festival.

Greg joined SECBE in 2016 to support various projects, including marketing communications. Greg’s advanced skills in analysis and vast knowledge of IT lead to the transition and current position of Membership & Systems Manager and has since become responsible for the secretariat of Construction Logistics and Community Safety (CLOCS) and involved with the production of the Constructing Excellence SECBE Awards in London and the South East. 

He has previous experience within IT operations, construction renovation & maintenance, production installation and office management.

In his own time, Greg has studied for a degree in Psychology with ambitions to achieve accreditation within organisational psychology.

Jason is a Marketing Manager for SECBE. He works on all the SECBE programmes: CLOCS, Constructing Excellence SECBE Awards, CoTrain & IFLP.

Jason has a wide range of experience in marketing in a number of industries. He has led projects in the UK, US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, as well as volunteer work in Brazil and Singapore.

Mark joined CoTrain in 2019 as an Apprenticeship Manager. Mark Pope had been working for CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) for ten years, with 8 of them as an apprenticeship officer in the Southampton Area, with his last two years as the CoTrain Shared Apprenticeship Co-ordinator.

Mark completed a 4 year Electrical Apprenticeship in the early 1980’s and went on to study for an HND in Heavy Current and Electronics. The electrical training has helped Mark follow different career paths working for an Electronics production equipment company for 15 years as an installation engineer, sales engineer and commercial & training Manager. This allowed him to travel with work and he has lived and worked in New York, California and Australia.

Will joined SECBE in 2019 as the Project Manager for IFLP (Innovative Future Leaders Programme).

IFLP equips future leaders across the built environment sector with the expertise, connections, confidence and practice to successfully drive innovation. It is a 12-month programme with a series launch event, quarterly 2-day residential workshops and a showcase event. Our team of innovation experts bring insights from beyond and within the sector.

Will’s career started with an apprenticeship for the National Apprenticeship Service and went on to become an Operations and Programme Coordinator for a management and leadership consultancy.

Will also supports the Constructing Excellence SECBE Awards.

Roxanne has worked in the finance industry for 16 years and has experience in all aspects of the finance function. She looks after all the suppliers, customers and SECBE employees financial needs. Her previous history includes an extensive career in motorsport and her own business.

Emma joined SECBE in 2021 as Project Team Assistant, helping out with all SECBE programmes.

She has over 13 years of experience in finance and 8 years in event planning and apprenticeships. With a family background in construction, Emma is also passionate about planning and organising so she's keen to help accelerate the growth of CoTrain and CLOCS in particular. 

Emma recently completed a diploma in software development.

In her spare time, Emma likes to play golf across Berkshire.
