News: Learning Excellence in Sustainability workshop returns on 1st February

Temple and SECBE team up again for Sustainability Workshop

SECBE has again teamed up with Temple Group on Thursday 1st February for the Sustainability Excellence Workshop at Temple's London offices.

The aim of the workshop is to inspire the construction industry and share the knowledge and expertise from last years winners and finalists.

Derek Rees from SECBE will also be attending to advise on the 2018 awards process and what makes a winning submission.

The presentations will be provided by:

  • Richard Quartermaine, Environment Manager, Hammerson - West Quay South, Southampton (Winner)
  • Suzannah Brett, Health and Safety Lead and Kate Donovan, Project Manager, Lendlease - Living Wall, International Quarter, London (Finalist)
  • Georgina Grafakou, Sustainability Manager, Multiplex - 73-89 Oxford Street, London (Finalist)

What can you expect from the Sustainability Excellence Workshop:

What does sustainability really mean and how do you embed these values within all your projects and maintain commercial viability. Join us for this session to:

  1. explore different aspects of sustainability in construction projects
  2. discuss opportunities to put sustainability at the core of your own work
  3. learn how Constructing Excellence SECBE Award winners delivered such impressive sustainability achievements.
  4. better appreciate the value of winning awards
  5. take away some top tips for creating a winning entry for 2018
