Sam takes over the reigns on @JoinCoTrain for the day!
This month, we let CoTrain technical apprentice Sam McCoy takeover the CoTrain twitter feed for a day to show what a typical day in the life of a construction apprentice is really like. Sam is a Quantity Surveying apprentice working with Galliford Try on the pre-construction on a Procure 22 project and has just completed his first year of his apprenticeship.
Throughout the 'Twitter Takeover' day, Sam took us through his day by tweeting photos and updates, beginning with how he prepares for the day ahead by reviewing actions following weekly team meetings, preparing his personal agenda and setting himself targets that he aims to complete by the end of the week.
He also shared how he is gaining knowledge on his placement and going through the aspects of his role that he enjoys the most, commenting, “What I like the most about this industry is being involved from pre- construction to seeing day by day the construction of a newly built building”.
Sam tweeted a series of photographs during the takeover illustrating the types of activities he is typically involved in during day including working in the site office to being out on the site itself.
Sam concluded his 'Twitter Takeover' day by summarising by sharing what his apprenticeship means to him; "I love the challenges this role brings with it and the responsibility it offers" before adding, "I want to say a big thank you to CoTrain for offering me this opportunity and I would highly recommend anyone looking for an apprenticeship to go through CoTrain."
High praise indeed! Thank you Sam, for giving us a glimpse into your day!
We will be letting another of our apprentices takeover on Twitter again in the near future - follow us: @JoinCoTrain
