Find out how CoTrain helps apprentices take their 'next steps'

CoTrain apprentices are really successful, with 95% of them finding a job within the construction industry. A lot of this success is due to the effort CoTrain puts into preparing their apprentices for their next step options at the end of their apprenticeship.
Development days are designed to ensure apprentices build a clear picture of their own skills, strengths and development needs. They are encouraged to look at the structure and criteria needed for trade opportunities or management programmes and supported in completing a personal profile for their CV. They are also taught presentation skills and receive coaching for interviews.
During their last three months, apprentices need extra support. The CoTrain team provides advice, guidance and coaching on a 1:1 basis to make sure they are in a winning position to move on to the next stage of their career. This may include support to search and apply for a higher-level apprenticeship, assistant role or management training programme.
In practical terms, the Apprenticeship Managers’ give apprentices the confidence to build excellent relationships with their host companies and supply chains. That’s why 80% of our apprentices do bag a job with one of their host contractors.
