On the first day of Christmas the foreman said to me… “First thing lads make the tea!” ...

On the first day of Christmas the foreman said to me…

“First thing lads make the tea!”

On the second day of Christmas the foreman said to me…

“Two Bacon butties and a nice hot mug of tea..”

On the third day of Christmas the foreman said to me…

“Get me the paper, turn on the heater, three bacon butties and a nice cup of Rosie Lea !”

On the fourth day of Christmas the foreman said to me…

“Now lads you’re here to work and not drink all the bloomin’ tea !!!”

On the fifth day of Christmas the foreman said to me…

“Oi apprentice Chippie, second fix the door frame, cut me a mitre, no gaps keep tighter, then we’ll all have a nice cuppa tea !”

On the sixth day of Christmas the foreman said to me…

“Oi apprentice Brickie, block work ain’t tricky, we won’t be picky, don’t throw a sickie, now we’ll all have a lovely cup of tea!”

On the seventh day of Christmas the foreman said to me…

“Apprentices get started, laying pipes wholehearted, you can use the digger, to make your trenches bigger, now I think it’s time for a tea !”

On the eighth day of Christmas the foreman said to me….

"Eight Spreads a-spreading, nine Groundworkers digging, ten Painters spraying, eleven Brickies laying, twelve Apprentices all wanting tea !

So all together now..... we’ve got…...............

Twelve teams now working, eleven Labourers lurking, ten Architects are drawing, nine don’t find work boring, eight Chippies sawing, seven Estimators learning, six Brickies earning, five Spreads a-spreading, four Trainee Site managers from Reading, three Planners planning

…..give me a cartridge, I will shoot that blasted partridge…And roast it in some pear sauce for my tea!
