News: CoTrain apprenticeship update

03 September 2020

We are looking to place apprentices - can you help?

We are really pleased to report that after a challenging few months, most of our apprentices have safely returned to work. To help ensure it is safe for them to return to work, each apprentice reviews and accepts the site COVID-related RAMS. We also ask them to take into consideration how they travel to site and the vulnerability of their household for returning to site.

We would like to say a big thank you for all our host contractors in helping to make this happen.

However, we are still looking to place the following apprentices:

If you can help and host a placement, please contact the CoTrain team today.

  • Level 2 Apprentice bricklayer having transferred from full-time college to an apprenticeship and has 10 months left until he completes next April 21. He is on unpaid leave as we took him on in March 20 and he did not qualify for furlough pay. He is 18 years old, a non-driver and has an RG5 postcode.
  • Level 3 Site Technician Apprentice working in the Pre-Construction Department (Planner). His is just completing his 1st year and is at risk of losing his placement. He is 22 years old, a car driver and has a GU22 postcode.
  • Level 3 Apprentice Site Manager just completing his 1st year. Worked in pre-construction before moving to site-based role for two weeks before being furloughed and released by host. He is 23 years old, and a car driver with SO18 postcode.
